Dear Parents,
We had such a wonderful Easter and General Conference weekend. In our upcoming Zone Conferences, we will have the opportunity to hear from the missionaries what they learned and how it will bless their lives. We had hoped again that Kansas would be announced for a temple, but we are so thrilled for our brothers and sisters in those 20 locations where temples will be built. This is all one work, and we are so happy to be a part of it.
Sister Cloe is working with the missionaries and encouraging them to get their vaccinations scheduled. We are hoping to complete as many as we can this transfer. As you talk today, please encourage your missionary to get their appointment scheduled.
Thank you to those of you who reached out with concerns.
This week we say goodbye to Elder Joseph Sant, Elder Samuel Stanfield, and Elder Juan Salazar. Thanks to these Elders for their devotion and work.
Everyone is settled from transfers. Make sure that you have your missionary’s current address so that cards, letters, and packages can be sent directly to their apartment. Our next transfer will take place on May 10th.
Thank you to all of you who helped us with our Easter event last night. I saw that many of you were making comments and engaging with us. That’s so great!
Thank you for sharing the event with others. Facebook is all about volume and numbers. We try to help the missionaries understand this, and yet keep the focus on the fact that behind every number is a face, and behind every face is a friend.
Our event had many firsts. It was amazing to have President Daley, the Derby Stake President, and Pastor Fulton, a Lutheran Pastor together in one room narrating this event.
Another first was that St. Mary’s Catholic School joined in our program.
A true first was that during the event we had people who were trying to shut down the event and trying to blast all types of messages on the chat. Our four media missionaries were putting up firewalls as fast as they could to keep the event going and to keep these people off of the chats. Seriously, there is never a dull moment in this work. This lets me know that we had a really powerful message, and someone needed to hear it. Isn’t that incredible?!
It is a privilege to be able to serve here with your missionary. We are grateful for them and for their devotion to Jesus Christ and His gospel.
Sister Ernst
